Valentine’s day
Hello everyone! Valentine’s day is almost here and I would like to show you how to work with these celebrations in your English class. Again, using Piktochart we can make posters like the following one. With this program, our students can search information about any celebration (in this case, Saint Valentine’s Day) and create a poster with the information they found. In this way, students will be using ICTs. These kinds of activities are useful to work with cultural events, in order to bring our students closer to the English culture.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
How to create activities
Hey! Today I am going to show you a very simple way of creating your own activities for your English learners. Wonderful, isn’t it? Okay… you just have to click here to visit a website in which you can create simple interactive activities just like this. I have created an exercise of vocabulary just to show you an example of how it works. I hope you have fun creating your own materials!
How to create an English session
Hello! Have you ever had problems designing a session for your English classes? The solution to this problem is in this presentation. Once more, I have created a video presentation using Emaze, which just as Powtoon is also a very useful website to create presentations. I hope you find it helpful!
Task-based language learning
Hello everyone! This post is an example of how to create infographics using simple tools like Piktochart. Infographics show graphic and easy to remember information which may be very useful for our English classes. Using the methodology of Task-based language teaching (TBLT) as example, I have created the following one for you to see how it works.
Rubrics
Hello everybody!
Rubrics are one of the instruments used for assessment. To know more about rubrics and how to create them click here. The link shows a video presentation made with PowToon, a very useful tool to make presentations avoiding the typical use of Powerpoint or Prezi. Here we have one example of a rubric designed to assess essays.
Word Cloud
Hello everyone!
Word Cloud is a very useful tool to introduce new vocabulary or simply to revise. One of the easiest programs to create word clouds is available here. Students can create their own clouds using words related to the vocabulary of the unit. The example below was created for a didactic unit related to leisure time.
About me
Hi there! My name is Cristina and I suppose if you have come this far is because you love languages as much as I do. To begin with, I would like to introduce myself. I am from Granada (Spain), I have studied English Philology in the University of Granada. At present, I live in Ceuta where I am studying a master’s degree in Secondary Education. As you can imagine, my favourite language is ENGLISH (of course) although I would like to learn other languages (like French, German or Italian). I really love English language and culture, so this blog is mainly focused on English learning, providing resources for teachers and students to learn English. I hope you enjoy it!
